What is a Primary?
A primary is the tool political parties use to select candidates for general elections. Candidates in the Republican primary are all trying to become the Republican candidate for their office.
Why is the Primary important?
A primary is the best tool for Republican voters to decide who best represents their views.
How can voters prepare for the Primary election?
Do your research! Voters are responsible for deciding which Republican candidate has earned their support. Visit candidate websites, read position papers, find out about the candidates' beliefs, research the candidates' past, attend candidate forums - do whatever research is necessary to make informed choices! Most importantly - BE PREPARED TO VOTE FOR EVERY RACE ON THE BALLOT! Remember, everyone on the ballot is a Republican - so straight ticket voting isn't a thing!
How can the GCRP help you prepare for the Primary election?
Because all candidates in the primary are Republicans, the GCRP does not endorse or support any candidate. However, we provide voters many opportunities to meet and hear from candidates. Use the links below to start your research!
